Background

The project Reearth started soon after Timbuktu's successful performance on Koh Tao in 2009. His interest in scuba diving and the ocean opened his eyes for the deteriorating conditions of the coral reefs and the decreasing amount of fish in the area. The project Reearth started as an ocean project where fish and corals where the main concern but soon developed into something slightly bigger.

Initial guidelines was set to; Act local, Concrete solutions, Tangible effects – ACT, the Reearth project was to be long term, benefit local communities by local events, with visible and positive effects on environment and local people. A close co-operation with Thai and Swedish researchers, authorities and doctoral students in the area of social and environmental responsibility was a great help to set up initial guidelines and to move the project towards our goals.

The project intends to create conditions to create and recreate events in Southern Thailand.
